Avondale Tree Lighting

Avondale Tree Lighting & Lantern Parade Information

The Tree Lighting Event is scheduled for Monday, November 27 at 6:30 PM

** Weather permitting **

If the weather is inclement, watch for an email from Mr. Mark in the mid-afternoon on the day of the Tree Lighting (NOV 27). If you haven’t heard from Mr. Mark otherwise, assume we’re “ON” for the event.

WEAR: Something warm in Christmas colors (RED, GREEN, etc.) if possible. Santa hats are okay!

MEET: At the Choir Room at 5:25 PM for a short 25-minute warm up rehearsal

NOTE: We will dismiss in time to assemble in the lower parking lot (Stratford Rd) for The Lantern Parade to the Avondale Tree (Tree located at Clarendon & S. Avondale near the traffic light in midtown Avondale)

The children who made Christmas Lanterns at our workshops at the church will be able to get their lanterns on the night of Parade. And...YES, we have lantern lights and bamboo sticks to carry the lanterns!

Parents and siblings are encouraged to walk the Lantern Parade Route with us!

Festivities at the Avondale City Tree begin at 6:30 PM and conclude by 7:00 PM.

The Avondale Children’s Choir will present two songs: Winter Wonderland and Let It Snow!

IMPORTANT: Children will be dismissed to their parents/guardians at the conclusion of the Tree Lighting event. We will NOT walk back to the Church/Choir Room as a group.
